How to reset the Desktop Windows Manager in Windows.

From time to time, Windows Aero turns itself off for some reason, probably because the graphics drivers failed. Resetting the desktop windows manager will usually fix this. (If it does not, then chances are something more permanent has happened and you’ll need to do something else!)

To reset the Desktop Windows Manager:

Go to Start, Run (or Windows Key + R) and type:

 tskill dwm

Alternatively, you can kill DWM.exe from task manager.

The desktop windows manager will automatically restart itself.
